Our Story

Bioteknik was founded in 2003 by Dr Stephen Charles Buckwell and Heather Anne Buckwell. The name “Bioteknik” reflects Dr Buckwell’s unique background as a Doctor of Chemistry and his passion for technology — blending “Bio” and “Teknik” to represent science and innovation.

In its early years, Bioteknik began as a retail business buying and selling IT equipment, before expanding into computer repairs and support. As technology evolved and environmental awareness grew, Bioteknik transitioned naturally into IT recycling and secure data destruction, bringing all three services together under one trusted brand.

In 2016, the original owners retired and the business was acquired by Glen Alexander Belfield and Caroline Jane Belfield, who had both worked closely within the company for years. The business name was updated to Bioteknik South East Ltd, reflecting its commitment to serving customers across Canterbury, Kent, London, Dover, Thanet, Reading, Cambridge, and the wider South East of England.
