1. Can you collect IT equipment from multiple council locations?

Yes. We can coordinate collections from civic offices, libraries, housing offices, depots, community facilities and other council-operated sites. Collections can be managed as one project with consistent documentation across every location.

2. Do you provide formal ITAD agreements for councils?

Yes. Where a council or public-sector organisation requires a formal arrangement, we can prepare a tailored ITAD service agreement setting out the collection process, data-security responsibilities, asset handling, documentation and service expectations.

3. How do you maintain a secure chain of custody?

Equipment is collected by Bioteknik personnel using our own vehicles and transported to our secure premises. Data-bearing assets can be recorded by serial number, tracked through processing and supported by appropriate destruction and transfer documentation.

4. How is sensitive council data destroyed?

Data-bearing devices are securely erased, degaussed or physically destroyed according to the type and condition of the storage media and the agreed service level. Certificates of Data Destruction can be supplied for processed assets.

5. Can data destruction be completed at our premises?

Yes. On-site data destruction can be arranged where equipment or storage media must remain under the council’s control until destruction. Authorised staff can witness the process, and supporting documentation can be provided.

6. Do you provide serial-number and asset reports?

Yes. Asset recording and serial-number reporting can be included where required. The level of reporting can be agreed before collection, from standard collection documentation through to detailed device-level audit records.

7. What documentation do you provide?

Depending on the service selected, documentation can include:

8. What types of council equipment can you collect?

We can collect laptops, desktop computers, servers, storage systems, monitors, mobile phones, tablets, printers, network switches, firewalls, UPS equipment, CCTV hardware, telecoms equipment and other redundant electronic assets.

9. Can you manage large or multi-site technology refreshes?

Yes. We can support individual office clearances as well as larger council-wide refresh programmes. Collections can be scheduled in stages to suit site access, staffing, storage capacity and operational requirements.

10. Can reusable equipment generate a rebate?

Potentially. Equipment with suitable resale value can be assessed for refurbishment and remarketing. Where value can be recovered, an agreed rebate may be offered after testing, secure data erasure and processing.

11. What happens to equipment that cannot be reused?

Equipment that is unsuitable for refurbishment is separated for responsible material recovery through appropriate recycling routes. Our approach prioritises reuse where practical before recycling end-of-life equipment.

12. Can you collect equipment that is locked to Intune, Autopilot or another management platform?

Yes, but councils should remove devices from Microsoft Intune, Windows Autopilot, Apple Business Manager, Google management systems and other MDM platforms before collection wherever possible. We can provide serial numbers to assist with removal, but managed-device locks may prevent reuse and reduce any recoverable value.

13. Can collections take place outside normal working hours?

Subject to availability and project requirements, collections can be arranged to minimise disruption to public services. This may include early, late or phased collections where agreed in advance.

14. Which public-sector organisations do you support?

We can support county councils, district and borough councils, unitary authorities, parish and town councils, libraries, housing departments, council-owned companies, public-sector partnerships and other government-funded organisations.
